Positive interaction with animals imparts responsibility and empathy. We get great pleasure from what we do. Placid and mild-mannered, the donkeys clip-clop into the playgrounds of schools and activity parks throughout communities that embrace nature and encourage children and adults to learn more about the world that surrounds us. Great excitement and a willingness to get involved with caring for the donkeys, talking and listening to facts and interesting anecdotes about how they thrive throughout the world, is a big part of the learning. Our lesson plan can be designed around a particular part of the curriculum if required and the learning can be brought to life in a meaningful way for the whole group. In addition, it never ceases to amaze how even the most vulnerable or nervous of individuals can be nurtured forward by the donkey’s instinctive desire to include all and ease tension.
